Dr. Mohamed AbuGazia, PhD, P.Eng is a Toronto-based structural engineer licensed by the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) and the Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). He obtained his dual PhD in structural and wind engineering from Western University (UWO) in London and Tongji University in Shanghai in December 2021. He obtained his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Ainshams University in Cairo in 2012 and 2016, respectively. His M.Sc. research focused on strengthening concrete structures using prestressed CFRP laminates and external unbonded tendons, while his PhD thesis investigated the behavior of wind turbine towers under tornado loads.
Gazia obtained numerous awards and honors including but not limited to Dr. Robert Addie Graduate Scholarship in Wind Engineering (Western University), Graduate Student Scholarship (Western University), Shanghai Municipal Government Scholarships for International Students (Tongji University), and Tongji University Scholarship (Tongji University).
Gazia’s portfolio in North America features High Rise and Mid-Low Rise residential, Commercial, Healthcare, and Institutional projects in Toronto, Oshawa, Edmonton, Niagara, Mississauga, and Calgary.
