Breakout Session 4: 2:45pm – 3:45pm

Topic: Are you Ready for the Digital Transformation

Digital twins, IoT, and smart systems have the potential to modernize Canada’s infrastructure through real time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and evidence based decision making. These tools can improve reliability, reduce costs, and support more resilient, future ready communities across the country. Yet a critical question remains: is your organization’s asset information and data foundation ready for this shift?

A key step in unlocking this potential is ensuring that your asset information systems, processes, and people are prepared to support smarter, data driven infrastructure decisions. This presentation will focus on:

·       Assessing the maturity of your asset information systems to identify current capabilities, gaps, and organizational readiness for digital transformation.

·       Structuring and standardizing asset data so that it is accurate, accessible, and interoperable across platforms, functions, and teams.

·       Establishing asset information governance and supporting processes that sustain data quality, accountability, and alignment with organizational objectives.

·       Preparing people through the development of skills, roles, and change support needed to adopt and sustain new digital tools and practices.

·       Taking a programmatic approach to change that sequences initiatives effectively, manages risk, and delivers measurable value over time.

Participants will leave with a practical roadmap for strengthening their asset information foundation and preparing their people and processes to successfully adopt digital twins, IoT, and smart systems in support of modern, future ready infrastructure.
