Breakout Session 2: 11:00am – 12:00pm
Topic: The Real Value of Communicating Engineering Climate Costs
Engineers are very aware of the cost of climate change in our fields, but we struggle to communicate those costs to a larger audience. This presentation looks at a method for estimating and sharing the cost for one discipline (stormwater), and why engineers need to make these costs visible to non-engineers; not just for the sake of the larger debate on addressing climate change, but for how expressing that helps us personally.
